Helping children and adults understand themselves better and work toward becoming their best selves.

I believe that strong relationship is the foundation for effective therapy: you can’t grow with someone you don’t feel comfortable with.

It is important to me to take the time to build relationships with my clients and understand the path they’ve been on to get where they are today. Throughout that process, we are able to collaboratively develop their unique goals and help them see the progress they’re looking for.

As a parent, you may be searching for how best to support your child at school or at home. Perhaps teachers are struggling to understand or support them in the classroom, they report feeling sick or anxious each day, or are experiencing big or upset feelings on a regular basis. I partner with both children and their parents to improve the parent-child relationship, as well as help children process their emotions, develop new self-regulation and social skills, and connect better with peers and family. I’m also available to assist in IEP development and school advocacy to ensure children are equipped for success at school.

If you are a man navigating a life-stage transition, I can support you in understanding what’s contributing to feelings of stress, anxiety, or depression, or grief as well as come up with practical strategies to respond to those things. Through therapy, you can improve communication and relationship with those closest to you, develop a deeper understanding of yourself, and regain your feelings of self-confidence and direction.

I meet each client where they are on their journey, offering the warmth, empathy, and transparency they deserve in order to get the most out of therapy.

I earned my Doctorate and Masters degrees in Clinical Psychology from The George Washington University. Prior to beginning my doctoral studies, I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree with departmental honors from the University of Miami for undergraduate studies in Psychology.

My clinical training includes working for several years at The Family Institute at Northwestern University where I served on the Child, Adolescent, and Family Team providing individual and family therapy to children, families, and adults. Prior to my time at Northwestern University, I completed a doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at South Campus Therapeutic Day School. At South Campus I provided individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, and family psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and young adults with emotional, behavioral, and learning issues.

Along with providing psychotherapy to students and families, I also provided case management services and served as a behavioral consultant to families, schools, and local communities. My time was also spent creating and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to allow for behavioral and academic progress within the school setting and to provide children with appropriate accommodations and supports based on their unique needs. I advocated for students and families across settings to best support long-term growth and development.

Other clinical experiences include providing individual, group, and family therapy at several community mental health centers in Washington, D.C., providing individual therapy and psychological assessment services at The Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders at Children’s National Medical Center, and providing individual therapy and assessment to adolescents at The Washington D.C. Superior Courts.

I also have contributed to research through the University of Miami and The Center for Autism and Related Disabilities in Miami, Florida, and have presented research at national and international conferences. I have extensive experience with crisis management and providing psychoeducational programming to parents and communities.
